We are always in need of volunteers on the Furniture Scheme to help with the day to day running, even if you are only available a few hours a week, every little helps.

You would be working as part of a friendly team either in the warehouse or out on the van with the drivers. Please look at the current positions we have available.

Warehouse Assistant
You will be required to assist the administrator with the running of the scheme.

• Answering the phone and taking messages.
• Meeting and greeting clients in the warehouse.
• Assisting the supervisor with clients.

Drivers Assistant
You will be required to assist the driver in the daily collection of furniture.

• Answering the phone and taking messages.
• Lifting and handling furniture.
• Map reading.

Electrician
You will be required to test all the white goods that come into the warehouse.

• PAT testing.
• Physical testing of kitchen appliances.
• Small repairs.

Furniture Refurbishment Team/Gardening Team/Bike Repairs Team
At present we are looking at ways to expand the scheme to offer more services to the public, we would like to open a workshop to refurbish a once old deemed un-usable piece of furniture into a brand spanking new item. We also plan to launch a Gardening Scheme to assist those who are not physically able, care for their gardens and a Bike Scheme supplying second had cycles to those in receipt of benefits.
