How The Scheme Operates

  • All items offered are second-hand or nearly new; although the scheme receives some funding it is not enough to keep the scheme running, so a handling charge must be paid for each item.
  • We no longer operate a waiting list, Items are available on a first-come-first-served basis.
  • We make every effort to ensure the furniture we collect is of an acceptable quality but this cannot be guaranteed.
  • All upholstered furniture supplied conforms to the fire safety regulations.
  • All electrical items supplied are tested before distribution and have a 1month guarantee.
  • If you are not at the property to receive your delivery at the time agreed by both parties, a delivery charge of £5.00 will be required before a second delivery is attempted.
  • The warehouse is open Monday -Thursday from 12pm to 2pm.
  • When visiting the warehouse with children please keep them with you at all time.
  • If an electrical item is faulty we will try to replace it or offer a full refund but in other cases we do not exchange or refund.
  • For refunds, a cheque for the amount will be raised by the WHCVS and may take up to 2 weeks.
  • Handling charges are set and not negotiable.
  • Any member of staff has the right to refuse to assist you if you are violent or abusive towards them

If for any reason you are unhappy with the service you have received, please speak to the administration staff for a copy of the Furniture Schemes complaints procedure. We take all complaints seriously and we aim to deal with them promptly and fairly.
